As a condition of using DegreeValidate, an Online Degree Validation Service provided by Risk Control Services Nigeria Ltd. (“Risk Control”), you must read and agree to the terms and conditions of this User Agreement.
Employers, employment agencies, background screening firms, and similar organizations and entities that act on behalf of these organization, which have registered with or signed on as Corporate Members of the Degree Validate service ("Requestors") are eligible to verify the educational claims of candidates who have previously been issued with a validation certificate carrying a unique Risk Control Reference Code (“RCRC”) by Risk Control.
Risk Control agrees to verify a candidate's degree, including dates of attendance and year of graduation, in a post-secondary educational institution in accordance with this Agreement. In order to verify a candidate's degree, the Requestor hereby warrants that the candidate has applied for or received products, services or employment that depend upon verification of degree. In addition, the Requestor must supply the RCRC of the candidate, and must otherwise abide by the terms of this Agreement.
A Requestor may obtain information from Risk Control under this Agreement for his/her/its own use or on behalf of an employer, employment agency, background screening firms or similar organizations, and may release the information to that other entity. The Requestor agrees that it will not otherwise release, transfer, distribute, share or re-disclose any information that it has obtained from Risk Control to any other entity or individual, whether for sale or free of charge, except to the candidate whose information was verified – upon that candidate’s request. The Requestor agrees further that if it obtains information from Risk Control under this Agreement on behalf of another entity, it will release the information to that other entity only on the condition that the other entity will not release, transfer, distribute, share or otherwise re-disclose any of the information obtained from Risk Control to any other entity or individual, whether for sale or free of charge, except to the candidate whose information was verified – upon that candidate’s request. The Requestor further warrants that the candidate whose information is being verified has authorized the request for verification by providing the Requestor with his/ her RCRC.
Risk Control agrees to provide a timely response to each verification request based exclusively on data provided or published by educational institutions, and warrants that under this Agreement it verifies or releases only information provided or published by educational institutions.
Risk Control agrees to institute and maintain reasonable controls to ensure the integrity and security of its database and data transmission system. Educational records are made available by Risk Control to provide immediate access to information for the convenience of interested persons. While Risk Control has taken steps to ensure accuracy and integrity of data, we make no guarantee as to the accuracy, completeness, timeliness or current status of the information. Risk Control assumes no responsibility for any errors or omissions, or loss occasioned howsoever by the use of information obtained from its database.
To ensure the security and confidentiality of sensitive information being transmitted over the Internet, Risk Control protects its customers by using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. SSL encrypts/unencrypts the data before the Server/Client sends or receives transmissions.
Risk Control and the Requestor agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations governing the activities and services provided under this Agreement.
Risk Control and the Requestor agree that all rights and obligations under this Agreement will be interpreted, governed and enforced under the laws of Nigeria without giving effect to its choice or conflicts of law provisions.
